Who's More Stubborn?

My daughter's Westie, Wesley, is a typical terrier...stubborn and tenacious. He's a loveable guy with a great temperament, but hangs on to his toys like he's caught a varmit in the wild....until he met Maddie. They play long games of tug-of-war, sometimes for 20 minutes or more. Maddie never loses! She will hang on until Wes either loses or gives up. Stubborn little girl! Here's a video I took of them at our house on Christmas.

I love how CALM they are about the tug-o-war! They need to teach that to Kubrick. He will growl and growl and growl and throw his head around like a maniac. LOL.

It was so cute when they were standing side by side each holding onto one end of the toy and Wesley's tail was wagging so hard. So cute!

Jeanne, that was so wonderful to watch. My 11- year old neice has a Westy called Coconut and she is very stubborn and not a cuddle bug. Coconut is known to kill birds in flight, possums and other unfortunate creatures which she loves to show off by bringing them into the house. Obviously, she doesn't find any welcome mats out for her

When my niece visited us over Christmas, she LOVED Benji so much as he cuddled with her all the time and she carried him around like a teddy bear. On top of that he has "clean" habits! She now want's to move here to be with Benji.

Best, Poornima

That is such a cute video, and I am with Lina - they are so calm about it!! My guys would be growling and shaking their heads real hard to try and shake loose their opponent!! What a great playmate!

That's hilarious Jeanne! I must say that I'm surprised at how gentle she is despite her tenacity to win the toy. What a hoot!

Poornima- Wesley is a really nice Westie. He's actually a cuddlebug and very gentle, although stubborn.

Kimberly- Yes, they play gently in this video, but I think they were tired from all the day's activities. Plus, they had played out in the rain (can you tell from their coats?) which I just loved. Sometimes they'll be alot more head shaking and noise making, but they both are really good with each other. What cracked me up was that Maddie drug Wesley from the entryway through the family room into the kitchen. He's twice her weight and all muscle. But I guess he knows that its useless to compete, as she will not give up!

Jeanne that is so cute and especially that neither of them will give in! Has your hubby given in seeing the two play to add a brother or sister to Maddie? Very cute video!
