Question How do you dry your pups when they come in from the snow?

Duncan gets sopping wet and the snowballs all over.
Do you just towel dry or blow dry?
Just curious!

Hi Dot,

We do both around here, depending on the seriousness of the snowballs.. lol
Beamer also helps out with eating all the snow off his legs..

When Sierra is a "Michelin-guy" look-a-like I first put her in a low tub with warm water to melt the snowballs, and then just blowdry as usual...

It's especially for the snow between the cushions that the paw-bath is very useful and painless.....

We don't get snow here, but when I was visiting a friend last January that had snow in the yard, my puppy came in with snowballs all over her belly and the friend just did a quick squirt in the sink with warm water and a couple of dry towels.

I keep thinking wow how uncomfortable must Duncan be,but he didn't seem to care. Now me on the other hand,I was crazy about him getting the whole entire house sopping wet,LOL!!!!
The other day,he went crazy inthe snow, then I spent 1/2 hour drying him only to have him run out again with the girls and get all snowy again. It's just like having a third child,LOL!!!

Dot,

Just when I got my snow coats the snow all melted here. This morning there was a light dusting. Now we are having rain mixed with snow...UGH.

Usually, I put them in a tub with warm water and melt it off. I bought several $6 microfiber towels that work really well for water absorption.

Also, because it RAINS so much here I have to keep a big beach towel by front of the door. I've taught them to stay on the towel when they come in so I can get them all dried off.

What kind of microfiber towels??Where did you get them??Details please....
At home we have beautiful weather, but we go upstate alot and our last visit we got 18 inches while there over the holidays. That's where Duncan goes ballistic in the snow.If there are really absorbent towels out there, bring them on!!

Dot,

I have previously bought them on line from Sierra Trading Post. First they had them listed as dog towels (which I bought 4 at $6 ea) then when I went back to get more, the dog towels were no longer listed, but they had the same exact towel and size under the towel section (different color). Now, I just went back on that site and there are none listed.

I checked Ebay and they have some (different brands). Maybe Sierra Trading Post is just out of stock..I will Email them and ask.

Dot..

I just called the 800# for Sierra Trading Post and they said that they were out of stock and didn't know if they would be getting more in. However, here is the site that tells you about the towel. It's made by Aquis..which normally sell for $19+
Maybe you can check around, as the towels are very absorpant (sp?)..
