Talking I'm not sure my husband understands...

First, he's a totally awesome guy and has taken to my hav addiction very well -- he loves these little dogs and has zero experience with animals since he never had a dog in his whole life.
Second, he takes care of ALL our kids on Wed night -- the night I work -- and does a great job.
I came home last night and all the human babies were tucked in bed. The hav babies were in their crates near my side of the bed. They woke up (as they always do when I come in on Wed night) and I let them out for cuddles with mommy. He said they had been acting funny since he put them in bed. As I was putting them back in their crates, talking to my DH about the night, I stopped, "What? What have you done here??? You have the puppies in the WRONG crates!! You put Bonnie in Duncan's crate and Duncan in Bonnie's!" I quickly fixed the situation. And you know what DH said to me??? "You mean they know the difference?" LOL! Yeah, they've got their special beds and toys and all! the man cracks me up!

Him trying to put them away gets an A plus! It has been 5 years since we have owned a long hair dog and my husband finally figured out to use a comb for poo bottom rather than spraying the dogs off when I am not home!

I agree w/Vicki, he deserves an award. Getting 4 children and 2 puppies to bed by himself is beyond the capabilities of many men I know

I completely understand!

At the Dog Show last Saturday, we arrive and I'm getting things set up, DH takes Rocky outside for potty. Brings him with 4 wet/muddy feet! I'd just spent 2 hours bathing & grooming. "Rocky wanted to go in the puddle" Urgh! LOL! Duh! LOL! What ya gonna do?

I'm so glad he loves them and is willing to take weekends to go to shows with me.

With a smile,
Cindy

I am with you guys!! Hubby knows that all their crates are special to each, and each morning he goes in to each crate and straightens out their bedding so it is perfect for them at night - yet, when not home and we have a dangleberry, he tries to clean it with a wipe, makes it worse and leave it for me when I get home. Then stands over them in the sink saying "its ok, Mommy just has to clean your bumm!!" Now why he could not clean it is beyond me!!!!

Oh that's funny!

Recently, My husband had to give a 'butt bath' for the first time since we've had Gucci (almost a year now) and he has reminded me EVERY day and called her a "high maintanence dog" atleast 4X a day, I ask him why he says that, and he points out the butt bath.

If I didnt know better, I'd think he's traumatized...He keeps wanting me to shave her butt down, I suppose he doesn't want that particular task again! LOL

He has yet to pick up a comb or brush, or bathe her...and I can't remember him feeding her either? But yet, he wonders why she's so 'attached' to me? uhh..DUH!

The "mud puddle" incident definately sounds like something my husband would do. LOL

That's hilarious Donna!

Cindy, I know exactly what you mean. Elaine and I have had this conversation many times since we both have show husbands. I was so excited to show Mister Trump (now Lito, owned by Kristin) at one of our local shows and even more when my husband offered to show for the first time. He offered to take him outside for a quick walk and make sure he didn't need to eliminate. They were out for a while and I wondered what they were doing... he was THROWING A FRISBEE and playing catch with Mister Trump! Yes, right before we showed, he thought it would be great to get him all wound up and excited. Needless to say, it was a disaster in the ring. Mister Trump just wanted to play! He offered to walk Ahnold one time before I show and I think I shot him some dagger looks and then laughed and said, "No thanks!" I learn quickly! Ha ha! (Ahnold was too hard to keep all four feet on the ground as it was. I certainly didn't need any encouragement for that boy to go nuts in the ring.)
