Angry I am so peeved!

My husband took the trash out last nite and took Wes out with him to potty. he comes back in a few minutes later and says this big black lab came right at Wes and they made contact. Wes never cried or anything, but now he won't use one of his front legs. I took him to the vet and he said there is nothing visibly wrong, nothing Wes seems tender as he felt the bones and joints. He said it probably got bruised and it's just sore to walk on. He put him on anti-inflammatories and if he's not doing better by Monday, I have to go back. It makes me so mad!!!
Of course it's not slowing Wes down at all. He's just running around on 3 legs now.
Oh yeah and he's 12.4 lbs now! he was 11 last week. But the Dr said his weight was fine. The tech that was in with us did make the comment that he was one of the biggest Havs she's seen. We should've named him Moose!

I sure hope Wes is ok. That is horrible. Do you know who the lab belongs to?

I have some neighbors who have two dogs and the neighbors mothers lives next door to them and she has a dog. They let the dogs play out front all the time - no leash. We have a city leash law.

One time I was in my front yard with Sissy ON A LEASH and the Schnauzer came running at us barking and growling. The dog backed me and Sissy all the way back to our garage. I grabbed Sissy and had her in my arms.
Finally, they came and called off the dog.

I had a long talk with them about keeping their dog on a leash (explained leash law). Talked with them about being in my own yard.

They kept them up for about a week and now the dogs are playing any where they want. I don't even feel comfortable walking Sissy around the block because of that dog.

Poor little Wes, I hope he feels better soon. I never let any of my guys out of the house without a leash. Not even to get into the car. All three, especially my poodles are extremely protective of "their property". At the park and off leash, they are great.

Poor Wes, that must have been frightening. I hate when some people have no regard for the rights of others. I hope your baby is feeling all better soon.

Poor Wes, but it sounds like he's strong enough to heal soon.

Yikes poor little guy. I hope he is just sore and you see him using it soon.

Julia- that is a great point. My girls are pretty good offleash but they act way different in their own territory then when in a new place!
