Anyone heard of??

I was wondering if anyone on here as heard of a breed called Mi-Ki? They are a small dog that look too cute to me. I came across them in my dog magazine. I found a breeder here in Indiana to get more info. She sent me some pictures and told me that she charges 2,400 for females and 2,100 for males. I asked her what kind of health testing she does on her sires and dams. Have not heard back from her. I was wondering about there orgin but I have not found much...thought you all might know something about them. Thanks!!!

Yes, Amanda was telling me about them a few months ago. Here's a link to pics and info.

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/miki.htm

Here's what it says about their origin:

According to the IMR, the Mi-Ki is a new breed started in the late 1980's by a woman who went by the name of Micki Mackin, among others. She resided in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and itís suburbs. She started developing a strain of small dogs from the Papillon, Japanese Chin, Maltese and the small Shih Tzu and in 1993 there was a Papillon/Yorkshire Terrier mix stud that she introduced to some of the females. Unfortunately, she did not keep accurate records, so the degree of mixture or combination of the breeds used is not known. Some credit Micki Mackin with the use of her name when she called the little dogs Mi-Kis (pronounced Mee-Kee). The International Mi-Ki Registry proclaims to be the Developing Founder. The IMR has taken that strain and through a strict breeding program, including DNA profiling through the United Kennel Club, Inc., is developing and refining the Mi-Ki into a new "made in USA" pure breed.

According to Dogster-"The Mi-Ki is a rare breed of toy dog. It is still a developing breed, and there is controversy over what a "real" Mi-Ki is, what it looks like, and so on. It is a small, devoted companion, who is outgoing, fun loving, and intelligent."
(the one I met is a real yapper but adorable!)

Sally,((Oliver)) Comet and Pennie too!

Yes, you can hit Google & find some info on them but there wasn't much available when I first saw them 2+ years ago. I confuse them with the Kylio (sp?).

I think it's strange that there is no one look that makes you say this is a Mi-ki. Some of them look like papillons, some like shi-tzus or yorkies and some even resemble havs. Odd, I think.

Just Milo and me, and . . . Bailey makes three . . . until Ruby said, "hey, what about me?"

I honestly thought the puppies were havanese. I have a litter on my cell phone a friend sent me but oh the adults are kind of ummm not so cute! Basically they are trying to start a new breed with a mixture of breeds!
