Elayne~ I'm glad to know such a good time was had by all. I was sad to have to miss it. Next time I'll be sure Amanda, Karen and pups come w/me and Tori! That will add another five, possibly seven, more Havs! (If Amanda and Karen have puppies to bring) What a great time that will be!

elayne, sorry i am so late in thanking you for the nice day DH, coco and i had at the playdate. we enjoyed meeting all the havs and their families. what well behaved pups they were, taking turns sampling elaynes treats. we enjoyed a hearty lunch and cold mimosas on a beautiful warm day. we were sorry to miss the RLH at the park but wanted to avoid the traffic going back. we went home a few days later and the boat trip was so bad with the storm that coco was very seasick, lucky our vet was on the boat and tended to her. i am looking forward to seeing the photos! judith

Judith~ Any place on Catalina to hold a play date? How fun would that be!? A boatload of Havs coming to play! Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Tori would be all the way. She's having difficulty, at times, just making it to the bank and back in the car without I can only imagine what a boat ride would do to her...

I'm eager to attend the next SoCal Hav play date, wherever it's held!

leslie, nothing fenced! coco has never been carsick, this am was the second time in a week to get seasick. poor thing she was miserable. i wonder if benadryl before the boatride would help? maybe tori will gradually outgrow her problem, i hope so as it is so fun to take them along. i am also looking forward to the next playdate, so much fun and i love seeing all the havs, each one so different. judy

Judy~ I used Benedryl when I took her to Karen's a few weeks ago and she was fine. No drooling, no . She did seem "drugged", though. I've also tried Dramamine with the same "drugged" results. Someone said to try Bonine because it doesn't cause as much drowsiness. Guess that's next on the list.

I really hope she does outgrow it. We have a 5th wheel we like to go out in and we fully intend to take her w/us. It will be so much nicer if we don't have to worry about her feeling sick.

Leslie, I started to use Bonine per Benji breeder's recommendation when he started to have motionsickness at 16 weeks. Prior to that he didn't have any. The other factor that impacts Benji's carsickness is fresh air. If the windows are closed, he pukes. It is not very convenient during winter times though. But I just wind them down for an inch or so and it still helps. The Lookout car seat makes him comfortable too. I notice that he travels better on an empty stomach. Whenever he has a little food (even just a small snack), he is nauseated and throws up.

Well, I hope that Tori will get over the motion sickness for your and her comfort and conveniece. Good luck!

Best, Poornima
