Something Amazing

Biscuit has been doing something rather amazing lately (or at least we think so). Well , not as amazing as Griffin or Smarty, maybe, LOL, but anyway. . .

DH is up in the master bedroom with Biscuit, and I'm far away, downstairs in the kitchen (where else?). Biscuit is upstairs looking out the window at the dogs passing by across the street on the path along the Bay, and gets very excited and starts barking. Because the noise bothers DH, he tells Biscuit to "go tell Mommy about the dogs", and everytime, Biscuit RUNS the full distance at a breakneck speed (this is as far apart as you can be in my house) to me down in the kitchen and then jumps and barks excitedly at me to tell me.

It is so cute!!! What has your dog done lately that amazes you??

Oh that's SOO cute! LOL

And SOO funny that your husband sends him to YOU. *cough* I have to admit, that I do the SAME thing. lol I will send Gucci to "daddy" periodically. I'll say "Go play with Daddy" and she'll seek him out. haha. So, I guess I play that game, too.

Gucci is always amazing me, she's a very smart dog. I love how she talks to me like Griffin when she wants her jerky..I'll have to get that one on video because she sounds alot like him! And I'm impressed that she can distinguish several toys by their 'name'.

She just left for a walk with DH and the twins, and just the mention of walk made her perk up with excitement. lol, She usually then does the 'chase me' game to put her harness on, but lately, we've been working on "SIT" command to stop her in her tracks, and today it worked beautifully!!! My husband was SOOO impressed, and so am I!

It just goes to show that they really do want to learn, and can learn easily.

Biscuit sounds like such a character! lol, Gucci only watches for other dogs walking when she's in the backyard...

That is really cute...I think it just shows how they do understand what we are saying when they want to.

I tell Casper to go downstairs and get daddy or find daddy and he will go to him.

Wow , Gucci is just a little smarty-pants. So cute !! Yes, Biscuit does the chase me game before his walk, too & I've got to work on that. I do think they have so much learning capacity and we probably are only scratching the surface. .

In our place here in Florida, Caz can jump up on a chair and look out the window to see the main street of the park (not the street we live on.) He knows when our car is on the main street - when DH drives in - because Caz jumps up on the chair beneath the window, looks out, runs to the front door and back and forth, back and forth, ready to greet Daddy...the other day waiting for Daddy to come home, Caz went into his chair jumping - window looking out - running to front door routine and I said, Oh, daddy's home! But Dh didn't come until about 10 minutes later - he had driven down the main street to drop a friend off. This street is quite a distance...does Cazzie hear a special tone to our car that no other car has?
One more for you...a tissue box is on the shelf under the microwave stand. There is not much clearance...I just have the box shoved in and if I want a tissue I take the box out to get one...Cazzie got the tissue box down and took a tissue out.
Now why can't he quit barking when we're gone and I tell him we will be back shortly?????

oh my smart Biscuit!!! I find that just as amazing as Griffin or Smarty.

Unfortunately the thing that amazes me lately is also the thing that grosses me out the most. Cash--- knowing that we would grab his "biz" before he could eat it-- curled himself into a pretzel to catch it on the way out.... ok Group Ewwwwwwww!!!! we are working on this problem.

Amy, that's really cute. Lizzie makes grunting sounds like the sea lions when she wants food. Then she starts to talk and this type of "talking" is only when she wants food. I need to get a video clip of it.

Best, Poornima

Adorable Amy. It reminds me of how Riley is when his daddy comes home, the 3 of us will be sitting in the living room when Riley hears daddy's car he will go flying out of the room to the back door barking away then back to the living room and bounces off of me like come on mom daddy's home lets go lets go. He will run back and forth until I get up and go welcome daddy home. I did take a video of this the other day but he was only gone for 10 min so Ry was not doing this full force.
