Hilda at the dog day care center

I am working full time and so I had to find a solution, so that Hilda is not alone all day. And I found one: a dog care center close to my working place. Hilda goes there three days a week (the other two day she stays with my parents).

Hilda loves to go there. Here are some pictures:

No, it is not a beach, but the whole outside area of the center is covered with beach sand, because it is more hygienic when there are a lot of dogs.

The area is about 4000 square yard large with a swimming pond, agility equipment, sofas, armchairs, dog houses, awnings ....and a large log house...

Cute! She looks like she has a great time. But do you have a mess to deal with every time you pick her up?!?!

Actually: no.

Sure, I groom her every evening to get the sand out of her fur, but that is it. I only need 10 minutes.

At the weekend, I groom her thoroughly and every six weeks we go to the groomer who bathes and grooms her. That is all.

Greetings from Nicole and Hilda

I'm glad to see Hilda with her "friends".
Looks like quite a bit of activity. Does she get a nap-time too?

artificial turf is artificial and sometimes there are chemicals in it, that are not that healthy...

and the dogs cannot dig, cannot roll in it really and cannot enjoy mud.

I prefer a natural environment, so that Hilda can do what dogs like to do. And I enjoy the 10 minute grooming time every day, because I know Hilda had a great day.

By the way, I would have to groom Hilda every night anyway, because we go for a 30 minute walk in the morning and a 1.5 to 2 hours walk in the evening on the fields and in the wood.... so she is messed up anyway and she likes to roll in every puddle and explores the bushes and so forth....

Greetings from Nicole and Hilda

Yes. Her schedule at the dog day care:

In the morning till noon: free playing

noon till 2 pm: rest, cuddle time, nap time, caretaker look after eyes, ears and so forth

afternoon: agility or obedience or free playing or walk through the fields nearby the center

BUT no dog is forced to do anything, if Hilda wants to nap in the afternoon, then she can do it

Every afternoon, when I pick her up, I get an update what she has done the whole day, if there was something special, I have to know.

Every morning I can tell the caretakers, what Hilda should or should not do...

It is really great!

Greetings from Nicole and Hilda
