socks, the other food group

mugsy loves to steal my socks and run off with them. he doesn't actually eat them or even chew holes in them but he does mouth them and then throw them in the air.
at night, he grabs them and sleeps on them for awhile before going on his own bed.

normal? or do i have a dog with a fetish?

Hhahahahahaa.. my Beamer does the same thing.. but with any peice of clothing we own.. just not socks.. he has never chewed any of our clothes.. he just carrying them around and tossing them around and stuff. He also loves are bath towels as well after we have used them... It's probably something to do with our scent i guess...

Socks are and have been one of Milo's favorite things too. He also picks one up, runs with it and then tosses it in the air to grab it once again and the game goes on.

Socks and underwear are Norah's biggest downfall. She likes them even more than treats! Imagine the look on my trainers face if I whipped out a pair of undies at our next puppy class

only socks for mugs, he leaves everything else alone. he will even move a t-shirt out of the way to get to my socks.
so, it sounds prety common as does the throwing in the air.

these little guys have a ton of energy for play...

Socks are a favorite--especially used socks! It is like my dog's own version of catch with himself. We were walking the other day and Brutus picked up an old sock by a garbage can (it was garbage day.) He carried it for 2 miles. Roxie had fun trying to get it from him, but no way. That dirty sock is now in our toy box!! EWWW! What I will do for my dog.

Ahhh...but the BEST is when they come trotting down the stairs, hub's jockeys on their heads, noses sticking through the leg hole...

...while the Liturgy Committee is having a meeting in the dining room...

Joe,
Definitely normal. McKenna LOVES socks to the point of pulling them off our feet. She very daintily grabs the end of the sock because she knows there are human toes in there and pulls. Sometimes we humor her and pull our socks most of the way off and let her finish. She feels like she's won the best prize ever. She never chews the socks, just runs off with them and lays on them.

This site is the best entertainment. I have been LOL for 1/2 hour. No undergarment contributions from me.

Yep, socks evidently make the best toys. I wear socks at night to keep my feet warm, but take them off during the night when my feet get too warm. The very first thing Maddie does in the morning (after hugging me) is steal the socks off the nightstand and run through the house like the world's greatest thief. She is so darn proud of herself. I've thought about using the socks for agility reward, but don't want to deal with the looks others would probably give me.
