Chewing on bull penises?

So I keep reading about how great these 'bully sticks' are and how much the dogs love them. So I got on www.bestbullysticks.com and ordered a few for my upcoming pup. Then I thought to myself...hmmm...I wonder what exactly these are made of. Then I find out that I just ordered a whole gaggle of bull penises. Really??? Bull penises, drained, dried out, and stretched into chew toys. This just doesn't seem right. I am wondering who the person was to originally even come up with the idea of feeding bull penis to their dogs!

Who ever it was, my puppy would like to give him a big 'thank you'.
I just wish the things didn't smell so bad.

yep in Canada we waste nothing. If you could see what goes into the things we eat, you might starve .

I guess it just caught me off guard. I mean, I knew that the bully sticks were an animal part, but had NO IDEA it was that part.

I purchased the 'no odor' bully sticks through www.bestbullysticks.com

After I get them, I'll let you know if they put off any noticeable odor.

The real "genius" was the person in the marketing department who came up with name "bully stick" in lieu of bull penis or bull pizzle.

still...something about giving a male dog a penis to chew on just doesn't set right with me.

Brody wasn't interested in them. He's not a big chewer though. I had hoped it'd keep him occupied when I drove across province with him so I bought him some, but he wouldn't touch them. He wouldn't touch the Himalayan chews either. I end up giving away so many treats!
