jumping

do havs normally jump, like on the furniture?

mugs can do some amazing jumps outside - you should see him make it over a snow bank - but he doesn't even try to get up on the furniture.
instead, he stands up in front of me and wants to be picked up and put on the couch.
in the morning he will stand on the side of my very low bed and just stare at me till i pick him up. i would think that he could easily jump onto the bed.

Both of mine do not jump on the furniture. I put a step stool for them to at first and then they wanted to scratch my sofa so I took it away. Now they come and ask to be picked up and behave or get put back down. They are able to jump up on the sofa because I have seen them when they do their run like hell but they never just jump up and sit on my furniture. When they RLH they jump across the coffee table from the couch and I am afraid they are going to get hurt.

Joe, jumping is VERY Hav-like. They can do amazing jumps that leave you I think Mugsy simply sees you as his leader and therefore doesn't jump on your 'territory' uninvited, if I were you, I wouldn't change that

i bought a set of steps for him but he doesn't use them at all. he really doesn't like steps of any kind except for the front steps which he takes 2 at a time. he refuses to come down to the basement and would rather sit at the top of the steps and wait for me to return.

it seems odd that they don't go for a running start and jump up.

leader eh?
i wish he would listen and not p&p in the living room

i have called him up on the couch and the bed but he waits for me to pick him up. i do realize that it's a good thing for him not to jump but i thought it odd that he has never tried.

that's so cute!!

mugsy runs so fast i'm always afraid he is gonna smack his head into something but he always manages to steer clear.

i have another question (getting tired yet?) the noises they make, like gurgling, is how i describe it. when he plays or sometimes when i am petting him he makes that same noise but i have a hard time trying to describe it as anything but gurgling...how do you folks describe the sound they make?

Pablo grunts, snorts, caughs&sneezes, etc. In fact I think you should be able to hear him while doing his RLH if you turn your speakers up. He was doing his RLH an hour ago and while running like a maniac, he would grab a toy from the ground and go 'grrraarrrarrra', drop it, keep running and grab the next toy and so on. Hehehe, they're very entertaining, aren't they?
