egg yolks

anyone out there give their dogs raw egg yolks for a shiny coat? if so, how much and how often and what's the weight of your dog. my husband doesn't like the idea of giving the dog more supplements (biotin) and would rather give him natural things to get results we want. i'd love to hear what everyone else has done. thanks!

My breeder recommended hard boiled egg yolks. I feed Benji and Lizzie a half hard boiled egg yolk twice a week. I am not sure if the egg helps with the coat though. I feed them olive oil and Missing Link supplement and the olive oil helps with the dry skin.

Best, Poornima

egg

We do not feed eggs but have used the missing link and also salmon oil. The salmon oil is nice but will make your dog smell a little fishy if you use it a long time....LOL

How much olive oil in a week? Do they get loose stools from the olive oil??

Umm..I've tried, but Gucci won't EAT them. I can't really blame her they do smell gross to me too. lol

I use the supplement K9-RX which also has supplements in it for her coat, among other things. I like the idea of using a single supplement.

And, her coat does look really good...or so I'm told.

Actually....a friend of mine here locally started the K9RX about 2 months ago, and she was here a few weeks ago for a playdate and she said she really had 'noticed a great improvement in their coats and energy levels", and she thinks it is the K9RX that she had just been adding to their kibble.
