Question for those who feed Purina Pro Plan
If you feed Purina Pro Plan kibble, how much is your Hav eating? The recommended amount is 1/2 cup to 1 cup for a 3 to 12 pound dog, and 1 cup to 1-1/2 cup for the next weight range. (I've got one who's 10.5 and one who's 15). Are those recommendations assuming that they're not eating anything else? My two get a couple Pro Plan biscuits a day, some days they'll get a couple teaspoons of Pro Plan wet food mixed in with their kibble, and I have a sneaking suspicion that my kids give them a little bit of leftover meat or cheese at some point during the day. They'll also get some Cheerios or Charlie Bears when we're training them. I figure I should be reducing their kibble some for the extras they get, but I have no idea by how much. Nico and Desi seem to be at a good weight, but they also always act like they're hungry - sniffing around and begging for food, and they always eat their entire meal right away when I give it to them. I've never had dogs before, so maybe this is typical dog behavior. Nico used to be a picky eater before we got Desi; now he's a chow hound. How do I know if they're getting enough (and that they're not getting too much)?
