Some Dog-Sitting Advice?

Tomorrow will be the first time Billy will spend the day with Molly and me while Mary is at work.

It's happily evident that Billy and Molly (both 16 months!) get along well and behave.

Any suggestions, though, how I can help Billy feel more comfortable and secure without his Mommy here?

He follows Mary EVERYWHERE like a shadow, runs around looking for her if she closes the bathroom door, and every few minutes (even in the middle of playing), he just jumps on her lap to cuddle and puppy-kiss her. It's an understatement to say that Mary's lap is Billy's favorite place!

I just don't want Billy to feel sad or insecure without Mary here, and I know you guys have lots of good advice! Thanks!

Maureen, I think that Billy will be just fine! When I leave Kubrick at my sister's she says that he might go to the door and whine for a minute or so but if she starts to play with him he forgets all about me until I walk back in and then it's "Mommy's home" mode, LOL. Plus, with Molly to keep him occupied, I'm sure the time will just fly by for Billy.

I highly suspect he won't even think of his mom a minute after she leaves. Billy will have too much fun with Molly and you.

However, when Mary comes to get him, he'll be very excited and he'll show it.

i agree with lina and kimberly your house will be soo much fun for billy.

my mom watches posh every now and again, and she says as soon as she's figured out i'm not anywhere near she stops worrying and plays with her sheltie friend.

it's funny, my mom owns a coffee house and i bring posh lots to hang out and socialize. i'm hoping she'll get her therapy dog certificate by next year. there are always a lot of customers who want to cuddle with posh, and this is great as i like to get up and make myself an americano and i would have to put her in her carrier to go behind the counter. she looks for me each time i disappear behind the machine and as soon as i get close enough does this "sea turtle" move out of the person's arms to get into mine. too cute
