RIP Ruckus

My sister's pit bull Ruckus was hit by a car yesterday. He dug under the fence and got out. My poor sister was sleeping when her neighbor rung the bell to tell her. He told her to hurry because the dog was almost dead. She ran out and spent his last minute with him. Poor thing, she is completely devastated and feels really guilty for letting him into the yard unsupervised. Apparently he had dug before and she was always filling the holes back up. He had finally stopped doing it and she thought he was okay to leave alone in the yard.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. My heart always goes out to those that lose a beloved pet. I will learn from her loss and never leave my Valentino in the yard unattended.

Oh, how sad.

We had something similar to this happen to us. It is devasting, I still haven't gotten over it. All I can do is blame myself. It is a pain that never goes away but does get easier with time.

It is horrible that it happened, and we definately have learned from it. It is just so hard to accept that it was something we could have prevented.

Even if they are older in years, you still have to think of them as toddlers, not a 30 year old that should know better. We learned that lesson too late.

Condolenses to your sister. So sorry.

Sorry for her loss. Hopefully anyone here with a fence issue will make sure to fix it after reading this. I had a lose gate since we moved here, last week that my little one could shove herself thru and we just fixed and tested it out to make sure she couldn't get thru. Dora is such a good girl, she waits for me to open the gate and invite her outside.

So sorry to hear this news.....it's a really awful way to loose a pet. When I was a kid, I lost my dog that way and then when I moved away from home, my cat tried to go back to my parents house and was hit by a car. She was 17 years old.....I was crushed to say the least.
Regards to your sister....
