Tasha home from the vet

We brought Tasha in today to have her spayed and have 4 puppy teeth pulled. I never had to have a dogs puppy teeth pulled because they wouldn't come out on their own before. We paid extra for the "comfort and safety" package. That consists of bloodwork before the surgery to make sure everything is functioning properly. It also included morphine for when she woke up and pain pills for 2 days at home. She slept a lot today but was more awake tonight. She seems a little afraid of us now or maybe just angry at us. She's 6 months old and only weighs 6.8 lbs. She eats good and gains a little weight between visits but is still quite small. We are relieved everything went well and she is ok.

She is probably just out of sorts from the anesthesia. Also, keep in mind that the incision is going to be painful when the pain meds wear off a bit too. She probably won't seem like herself for a day or two.

I'm happy for you that Tasha is home and appears to be doing well so far. That's great news.

We are so glad everything worked out so well and Tasha is home. "She seems a little afraid of us now or maybe just angry at us." This is probably due to the drugs, her still being in pain and not wanting to be picked up. She will come around in no time.

Glad her surgery went well. Poor baby must be uncomfortable and that's why she is standoffish. She'll come around soon.

glad Tasha's surgery went well. When Mindy was spayed she wouldn't pee and would only slink from a bath mat to a bath mat. I called the vet sure that something was terribly wrong and he said she probably was extremely sensitive to pain(she was also on pain meds). She finally peed-just when we thought she'd have to be cathed, but took a week to start acting normal. It's hard when you know they don't feel well, but there's not much more you can do to make them comfortable. Hope she feels better soon. Jocelyn

Glad Tasha is safely home! Hope the healing process goes well. Valentino had to have baby teeth pulled when he was neutered. That was a first for me too!

Thanks for the good thoughts. She is much better today, running up the stairs and playing with her toys. I still think we got a midget hav but it's easy to carry her around when needed.
