My foster boy - Mo

I just realized I have been commenting on Linda's foster dog, Kenny, but never introduced my foster to the forum. Mo came to stay with us 2 weeks ago. He is a 4 and a half year old hav. He is a sweetheart who wants nothing more than to be with his people as much as possible. He gets along with the other dogs, but doesn't really have much interest in playing with them. He would prefer to play with his toys! He loves to play ball and is a great fetcher. He knows his commands and is an all around great dog. We are working on his issues with separation anxiety. If anyone has any great ideas, please let me know. I have tried the thundershirt, but that didn't do anything. I just put a DAP collar on him and no luck yet, but I hear they can take a week or two to work. I leave the tv on too. He is in a crate when we are out because I am afraid he will be destructive or hurt himself. I set up the Icam today and he did settle down after I was out for 30 minutes or so, but he did stir again around the 1:30 minute mark. Here he is. My sweet Mo.

Maybe the poor baby is afraid he's going to lose his people again when you go out. What's his story?

Mo is a cute pup! The Thundershirt often takes a while to work. I used one in combination with Rescue Remedy for my JR mix that developed severe thunderstorm phobia. It took a few months for us to see a real difference in her anxiety level. But continued use has helped her to become much calmer in stormy weather. You might leave the Thundershirt on and use Rescue Remedy a few times a day as well as training such as very short times alone to begin an slowly increasing those times. Make sure to give very tasty treats when you leave maybe in a Kong to occupy him for a bit.

My handsome foster, Mo, is doing much better. He is much happier now when left alone. He is now left out of the crate and likes to watch out the window with the rest of the crew and wait for us to come home. He has been a very good boy and we really are enjoying him. He loves to play with toys and just relax with us. We still feel he needs a home where someone will be with him most of the time. All he really wants is to be with his people. Here is my sweet MoMo.
