BREEDER LISTING

Melissa & Forum members, Whenever someone gets a new puppy, there are often covert references to the breeder (first name, location), which I usually cannot decipher (not being in the in-crowd of breeders or those who show dogs) , but I for one would really like to know more info about all these breeders. I'm thinking about getting a second Hav in the future, particularly an older puppy or dog, and would love to have this info at my fingertips.

Can we please have a thread in which members voluntarily provide the names, location, website etc. for their breeder~~but, of course, with no public commentary or endorsement from the member or the Forum itself. Then those of us who are interested could PM the member for their honest opinion of the breeder. What do you all think?? Thanks!

HAV A GREAT DAY ! ~~AMY & BISCUIT~~
and HEATH-Y, TOO !

I' m with Amy on this one.

Why not give the name of the breeder with whom you worked? It need not be an endorsement.

I've loved looking at the pictures of new forum dogs and often wondered what breeder produced that particular beautiful Havanese.

This could help those searching for a certain type, or color, or those living in a certain geographic area.

Some of you already know who got which dog from which breeder, but most of us do not.

I agree, I see no reason why a reputable breeder would not welcome the additional advertisement. A simple question could be answered such as “would you buy another dog from this breeder, yes or no?.” Anything else could be handled through private post or email.

I absolutely think this a great idea! Our personal experiences & information is invaluable. I would have loved a reference on a breeder that was not provided by the breeder. )

Being in the market now myself.... I originally like the idea. The only thing is maybe it should be left for positive thoughts only. Just no slandering cause a lot of times we would not being see both sides. I would also say if you like someones dog and see them post, pm them and get a reference.

Another thing to keep in perspective some people are looking for different things. For instance, I really enjoy agility and want a high energy dog. Where as someone who got that dog might thing that breeder isn't great cause his or her dog is nuts, etc. Just some more thought.

Amanda, you're right about the positive only ... maybe it is best to leave it and let members pm one another if they see another ones puppy that like and leave it behind closed doors.

We have some super breeders here and maybe we should pm them for recommendations if one of them are not in your area, for a referral.

The Havanese breed isn't too big that the good breeders know one another and will send you to another fine breeder in your area.

Good perspective, thanks Amanda. I think staying positive is the way to go, neither good nor bad - just your experience.

One thread we could go to that listed breeders name, location & website would be wonderful!
