Question Show names?

Ok, so I am trying to figure out what show name I want for my male Hav Tito. Does anyone know where I find a listing of already taken names? I am probably going to do something entirely in Spanish, it may not be grammatically correct, but I want it to be fun. The beginning of the name is the breeder, right? Other than that I got nothing, except that I see a lot of people have some loooong ones...

Your breeder should have given you registration papers that started Tito's name. After that you can go to the AKC website, create an account and then do an online dog name search. Since it will start with the breeder's kennel name most often, there usually isn't too big a problem with someone else using it. Also, your breeder may have had a theme that you need to stick with. Check your paperwork because you can't register him without the breeder's signature.

I don't show but I gave Norah a sort-of show name just for fun. Hers is Noralita la noche which means norah the night. It is pretty easy to pick one if you use a Spanish translator. I'm not sure on any of the naming rules or techniqualities of showing but it can definitely be a lot of fun!

The breeder told us the name has to start with her kennel name, but I guess that helps a lot that the rest can be whatever I want! Ha! I was tempted to go with 'Tito Taquito Burrito Bandito' but I think that might be too silly. =P

I'm guessing you mean that you are trying to create her AKC registered name. Any registered dog needs one. It isn't just for showing.

Having said that, you will need to contact Lisa (?), the breeder, and see if she has any rules in using or not using her kennel name. If she has a registered kennel name, you cannot use it without her granting permission first. (I don't think hers is registered though.) And, she may require that you use her kennel name if it is part of your contract terms. If nothing is in your contract, you don't even need to use her kennel name.

Since the Vallejo shows close tomorrow morning, if you are still hoping to show Tito there, it needs to be done right away. Hasta!

Do you have any idea on what you want in his name?
No, there is no listing, but you can always throw your options into Google and see if you get any matches. A lot of show results pop up now and then. I've seen "Tito Bandito" a couple of times with variations on it.

El Gran Tito (The Great Tito)
Tito maravilloso de Estrella (Tito the Marvelous of Estrella)
Chalet de Tito el maravilloso (The Villa of Tito the Marvelous)

Oh, I don't know. I was just playing around with Babelfish.

OH, you posted as I was writing mine! That name might not fit due to length, but I think it's great. Go for it! Believe me, there is NOTHING too silly when it comes to registered names!!

HA! My dad is a strong supporter of the food names for Tito, mostly due to the fact Tito is a burrito taquito bandito! That food hog. He keeps eating stuff off the floor... 'Tito the Great Bottomless Pit"

Kimberly just an FYI, AKC now allows up to 50 characters on the dogs registration forms
They just past it recently that anything that is 37-50 is allowed for an extra $10
Akc is doing this as a Beta test and they will decide if it will stay in effect or not at a later date.
So if you want those longer names, now is the time to get them in
