Question Waterless Shampoo

Does anyone here use waterless shampoo on a frequent basis? If so, how is it for spot cleaning? (beard..stash..paws..etc?)

Any brand that is very good?

Lemme know your experiences!

Ryan

Do you mean a shampoo that has no water content (like a concentrated product) or do you mean a shampoo that doesn't need rinsing?

I am a nurse in a hospital. We have a product that we use primarily for incontinent care, but it is a foam and rinseless and it also works as a shampoo. I brought some home and have only had the opportunity to use it one time, but it worked great. This is a company known to protect the skin so it is not too drying or irritating. Her is the link:

Kimberly, I mean the type of shampoo that does not require any rinsing. They are kind of like a foam I think?

Yes, some of them are foam. Poornima found one at the local chain pet store (I think the brand name is Veterinarian's Best) that she uses regularly after they go on their neighborhood walks.

I use a spray-on rinseless shampoo on my dogs that is a purple color tint. I just spray it on for spot cleaning, then towel dry with a small hand towel or wash cloth. If I need it totally dry faster, I throw some cornstarch on it and brush it out. The purple rinseless cleaners are great on the white/cream dogs. The only brand name version that I know is the Chris Christensen Show Off.

I use the same waterless shampoo (Veterinarian's Best) - it is a mousse that you rub into the coat, and wipe/brush out. It has a very strong smell, which is good, since I usually use it on the butt (for poop), to clean urine off their undersides, or around the mouth if they vomit until they can get a real bath....

It has oils in it so it does not dry their coat out.

I used one from Target, that was cheap but worked wonders on my dane. He was smelly and dirty and not fun to bathe in the winter. I haven't even thought about using one on Posh...hmmm....

I just bought one the other day Veterinary Formula. It is in a clear bottle and is purple. Maybe it is the one Kimberly uses. I have not tried it yet, but will let you know when I do.

I wasn't crazy about the foam-- I found it just as easy to do a paw or a face bath. But I just picked up this product at PETCO. I haven't tried it yet-- I will let you all know once I do. "Pet Organics Bedtime Clean: for use on dogs that sleep in their owners bed" LOL

I use the waterless bath from Walmart every 2 weeks for Sully. I dread having to blow dry him, This you spray on, rub in, towel off, and groom as usual. The other 2 weeks he is sent to the groomer and she bathes him and blows him dry. I honestly don't have the time to BD him myself, 15 bucks a month it's worth it to me! The waterless does wonders for spot treating his little floppy WHITE paws!
