Havanese Rescue

Well, I was talking to Charlene Edwards yesterday. She is in charge of donations for Hav Rescue at The National this year. There are over 20 dogs in rescue right now!!!!! She doesn't know I'm posting this, but I just wanted to let everyone know they really could use donations especially with so many dogs in rescue. They will be having both a raffle and silent auction. I am a dog portrait silk painter and I am already donating a portrait to the HCA auction, but after talking with Charlene, I am also going to donate 1 or possibly 2 handpainted tees which will feature a Havanese portrait. I've attached pictures of tees that I've done with Mindy (my Morkie) and Truffles (my Coton). I'll post the finished Hav tees when I have painted them. Anyway, if anyone else can please donate contact Charlene at [email protected].

Wonderful shirts. They should get some great bids.

Jocelyn, you are very talented. The shirts should be a hit with bidders. I don't have anything to donate right now but you've reminded me that I need to send in my $$$ donation.

Jocelyn, I love your designs! Great talent, hon. I'm sure this will inspire others to donate as well as bid. Thanks for the nudge.

I can't wait to see your other Hav tees!

Absolutely darling Jocelyn. The T-shirts should be big bidding winners.

thank you for the nice comments. I have had a couple of inquiries about if I sell the tees- I don't. I have only painted them for myself and I'll do a couple for the rescue benefit. I am not trying to promote my work here, i'm just trying to raise awareness for the need to donate to Rescue. I know many people were involved in the quilt project and many others donate, but there are alot of new members who may not be aware of the needs of Hav Rescue. I just wanted to get people thinking of things they could make to donate. this is a very talented forum.

One other thing I wanted to ask the creative peple here- I've thought about adding a short saying on the tees such as Mom of a Hav, or Must love Havs, or Hav Fun, etc so PLEASE give me your suggestions!!!

How about "Life with one is hav-en on earth" or "I'm in hav - en"
