And talking about scary . . .

I haven't been feeling well for the past week or so and I made an appointment this morning to go to the doctor. When I left, I was having some minor work done on the outside of the house (repair of some columns, painting railings . . . little stuff. This was the same guy who did my planting beds and some other things last week.

I should also mention he is very careful and he has a dog of his own. When I came into the house Milo was barking like crazy to go out so I dropped everything and rushed to the back door. I let them out and went to attach a new oscillating sprinker to my hose to water the beds. It might have taken three or four minutes. By the time I finished I turned around, surprised not to see Milo and Cagney. As I walked toward the side of the house I noticed the gate was wide open and they were nowhere to be found.

Do I have to tell you I was terrified and thought I'd have a heart attack. I ran out and didn't see them anywhere. I took off in one direction hoping against hope they hadn't run out into the street. As I reached the third house in that direction something made me turn around and I saw Milo, running past me like the wind. I then caught sight of Cagney in a different direction and tried desperately to corral them both. Finally, with the help of a woman and her daughter, riding bikes I was able to grab Milo and cajole Cagney back to the gate and into the yard.

It never would have occurred to me to worry with Rick there, but it's a good lesson. Trust nobody. God was running with my angels today. I'm grateful but I'm also exhausted.

Oh Geri------ That is scary. I know exactly how you feel. Vinnie got loose last week and I almost had a heart attack. I was yelling his name franticly and trying to run both in the front and back and then--------Vinnie just comes up to me like"what did you need?".I wanted to hug him and kill him at the same time! I think the fart was over by those crazy hunting dogs, but I have no idea---he just appeared!

Oh how scary - thank goodness some people were close by to help. I've got a dasher with my Maltese but luckily he's usually just racing out to pee on the nearest bush that needs "freshening" up.

glad everyone is safe, and I totally agree, trust no one, the little furry ones must be kept saf.

Once I was out with Henry and had too much in my hands (handbag, keys, leash, poopbag) , we were going to go into the car after his business. I went to pick up pooh, and then I realized I had dropped his leash. Henry was no where in sight. HEART-ATTACK, GULP.

Little guy continued with our walk and was just around the corner next to a bush. He just kept on going with our usual program. Now I am always paying attention to the max. I do not know how people walk and talk on their cellphones while walking dogs.

ACCCKK! That IS very scary! And you have two of them to catch. Omg, Geri, I am so relieved to hear it was nothing, they were safe and that you didn't actually keel over from the fright.

Are YOU o.k.? Feeling any better or still pretty exhausted? I'll bet those two monkeys have no idea what happened and have nary a care in the world. Brats.

Geri, that is just terrifying. I had one experience with Biscuit like that. Yes, trust no one, is a good approach. I am SO glad Milo and Cagney are safe and sound. Now go mix yourself a stiff drink.
