diareha

help, my little guy has diareha (sp) never had it in the 4 years we have had him. he's had a week of really bad gas, knew something was up in his belly, had given him a small piece here and there of cheese and yogurt, once the bad gas started, i stopped the cheese, he wouldn't even look at the yogurt. he eats regularly but sleeps alot, is there anything i should give him to help "tighten" things up? it was his first movement in 24 hours. i had his stool checked out by the vet friday and it came back okay but there is something going on in his belly. i think the treats i have switched him to are too rich, it's a toss up, do i give him treats that have no wheat but too rich or his regular treats which cause goopiness in his eyes but give him regular stool.

My vet also told me, when Kona got diarea from his shots, that I could give him 1/2 a tablet of pepto bismol. (or the same dosage that you would give a child of the same weight as your doggie) I am sorry he's got diarea. I would stay away from the cheese if it were me for sure. Now you see that it does upset him, and it's something to add to that list of "no no's" for him. Deff. try the boiled chicken and rice for a few days to give his tummy a chance to rest and not have to really work to digest his kibble. I got lots of good advise from my vet the other day for Kona, so hopefully this works out for you.

As far as the treats go, I would maybe talk to your vet about that one. They sometimes can give good recomendations like that for the breed of dog. Poor guy, I hope he feels better soon!!!!

Sure hope he is feeling better. I would check in with the vet just to make sure.
