Like a camel

So Lucky, who goes out in the morning between 7 a.m and 9am, does his last business outside usually between 4 and 6 p.m. We gave up trying the late night outing at around 9 because the dog doesn't really like the dark and really infrequently if ever will go then (and we have a back up piddle pad in our mud room which he has decided recently is a desperation only option). He goes reliably two, sometimes three other times during the day, but it seems so odd that he holds it (and apparently most comfortably) that long. The vet says we're just lucky. Anybody else have such luck or is this camel like and strange??

Well Colbie is still a puppy (18 weeks) so I don't know if her frequency will decrease as she gets older or better at signals but we take her out at 9 -930 PM and she always goes #1 and usually #2 as well. On weekdays she is outside to go by 5AM or on the weekends if we are lucky at 7AM. As far as frequency we take her out after eating and playing and she always goes.
Of course as I was writing this but before I hit the save button, she rang the potty bell to go outside.
I think she has some mental telepathy thing going on with what I post on the forum

Yeah, i think you're lucky! Kodi poops twice during the day, once early moning, then again mid-day. Though he occasionally skips the mid-day one. He goes out for his last pee between 8-9, and gets up with Dave and goes out between 6-6:30am. I thought THAT was a pretty long stretch!

I find if he's just laying around, he can hold it quite a while. if he's active, walking around often, like when he comes to school (work) with me, he has to pee more often, it seems. all anecdotal of course.
