Gibbs seems to like the snow. I guess that's good. However, pooping is starting to drive me crazy. Like a good parent, I shoveled a large spot in the grass for him to do his business. The problem is he's not interested in going there and he wants to sniff around until he finds a better spot. However, he can't find a better spot since he can't smell through the snow. We end up walking around the house, TWICE, as he sniffs every inch of snow. Finally he gives up, squats and poops, but not until my shoes are soaked through and I'm freezing cold.

Finally, I sat him down and had a "man to pup" to talk about pooping, but he just tilted his head to the side and gave me a big kiss. I don't think he understood.

John

Kodi used to do that too. Then I put my foot down. Now, I stand on the porch and send him down on a flexi. I don't move. He can wander as far as the flexi allows and no more. If he can't find the "right place" in a minute or two, in he comes. Being consistent with these rules, he's learned that this is not fool around time, it is potty time. So he gets down to business much faster!

You'd be surprised what they can smell under all that snow! Brody always manages to find his old pee spots by sniffing, even when there are inches of snow over top of it.

I pretty much do what Karen does with Tim. He's finicky about his "business" spot, typical male . I don't know about Mae yet, but I'm betting she'll either LOVE the snow or opt for her indoor option which I'm continuing to use. I stopped inside with Tim and now I'm kind of bummed since he is such a pain if conditions aren't to his liking.
