cute puppies are killing me!

So I'm ready for my new havanese puppy. Sophie is 3 and I can't wait to give her a brother. I keep seeing these adorable havanese puppies that are not health tested and are probably from less than reputable breeders. On facebook, havanese forum has many.I've chosen a wonderful breeder but the puppies have not been conceived yet. I'm like a child waiting for Christmas.
My patience is wearing thin. Some of them are so cute and I tell myself that all puppies need a home. HELP!

Those other cute puppies WILL get homes, just not with you because you know better. You are doing the right thing.

Your new puppy will be living with you for 15 years or more. That's a really long time to deal with health and temperament issues that result from the breeding of unhealthy, poorly socialized parents. ALL puppies are cute as yours will be once he/she arrives. You will be glad you waited!

I'm not really considering one of those puppies. I just can't believe how cute baby havaneses are! I am sure they are the cutest puppies created. I've been on this forum for three years and will not "fall off the wagon" of choosing the right puppy. I am educated! Their cuteness does make me weak, though.

You are right about that, Sharon, about Havanese being the cutest puppies ever! When I was researching breeds I was leaning towards the Bichon/Coton/Maltese/Havanese type, and tho all of those are cute, I picked Havanese. It was the episode of "Too Cute" on Animal Planet featuring Havanese that did me in. I don't know if you've seen it, you can find it on YouTube I'm sure. It showed a litter of Havanese puppies from birth until they went home w/their forever families at 10 weeks or so. I especially fell in love with the black and white, and that's what I ended up with! If you can find this episode on YouTube, maybe it will satisfy your itch for a while.

FYI Ladies, I have a litter due Dec. 23ish. I am NOT advertising puppies as I have more people on my waiting list than I will have puppies, but I do want to let everyone know I will have a live webcam set up so you can get your puppy fix watching my litter be born and grow. My vet saw 4, possibly 5 pups today.

As soon as I have the link ready, I'll post it to my website.

Thank you, Karen. That will be a great experience for those of us who will never be breeders. We actually had a vet come to our kennel club meeting on Monday evening to give a talk about reproduction and delivery. It was quite interesting. I have great respect for breeders after the information he gave us.

Best of luck with the delivery and the new litter. I'll be waiting for the webcam as I'm sure everyone else will be.

Oh, how wonderful!!! I can't wait to watch them grow! A "puppy fix" without all the work!
