thank you to all who made this happen...
I'd like to thank all of the people who worked so hard to make the
memorial event for Sue Nelson a success. For those of you across the
nation who could not be there, your kind thoughts were felt in
spirit. David Nelson was there with their four dogs as well as
friends and supporters from far away as well as those who live
locally. Sue's kindness and experience for our breed touched
many...both dogs and people alike. We didn't just get a dog...we got
There was a lovely photograph of Sue with each of her five dogs. We
were given plants to honor her life and to remember her at home. We
made flags that were hung all around our area to honor our memories,
as well as bringing photographs of Sue with her dogs and ours. We
each held a balloon while folks remembered her with memories and good
times. We were given treats, a special clicker and a training stick
for the special doggy freestyle and clicker training class. We were
able to view for the first time the HRI 2008 Quilt dedicated to Sue.
The food was delightful, the whole place looked inviting with a huge
area for the dogs to run free and they sure had a blast. The dogs
were able to socialize while we all talked of of our good times with
Sue and all that she had done for us. I can only tell you that we
chatted through email regularly as well as our weekly classes. From
the word at the memorial, Sue was very busy as it seems she was in
regular contact with everyone.
There are so many people who worked very hard to make this day a
success. It is my hope that I have not forgotten anyone, and if I
have, my sincere apologies. We will be posting photographs soon.
For those who worked so hard to make this a success, I sincerely
thank all of you with much appreciation. I'm sure that Sue would
have been more than proud, I know that David was.
