Has anyone seen this poodle?

I have had several people lately assume Gryff was a poodle. I don't know much about poodles, but I thought they had tight little curls. Personally, I don't think Gryff looks like a poodle in the slightest, but I wanted some other opinions.

I love Gryff and he's adorable but he looks nothing like a poodle in my book and I had a poodle. He's just a cute, sweet looking Hav.

If they knew what a poodle looked like, they wouldn't mistake Gryff for one. Poodles have longer noses and their coat is curlier. I think their body type is different too. I used to have a poodle, but that was a loooong time ago.

If he is a poodle, he is the cutest one I have ever seen!!!
I too always thought that poodles were the only ones that had that real curly hair, but.. When I saw a picture of Lily's Mom, she looked just like a poodle, with black curly curly hair!! And Lily has the same kind of hair!!
We know Mr Gryff is a Hav - until of course this weekend, when NOT one of the dogs coming will look like Havs - they will look like filthy, wet pups!!

Poodle?

Survey says........ no.
Gryff looks adorable in that cut... as I had said in a previous post, when people thought Hank was an Old English Sheepdog I would just keep on letting think that he was one of those ultra rare teacup hybrid Sheepdogs.

Ahhhh, NO..Gryff looks nothing like a Poodle..not even one that's grown out..

As to why they cut them this way, I copied this from the Web:

Poodles hair cuts were designed for a reason. Poodles are water retrievers. The hair cuts were designed to allow the poodle to swim in the water and to stay warm...one reason the coat is the way it is...it's water resistant....so when the dog shakes the water off after getting out of the water....the water stays away from the skin. The legs and feet are shaved so the poodle could swim better. The hair left on the ankles (pom poms) and hip bones were to keep the boney areas warm. The bows in the head were originally used for the owners to be able to identify their dogs when in the water by the color of ribbon in their hair.
After understanding why poodles are given these types of haircuts, it doesn't seem so ridiculous.
