Cazzie hates the rain. He has to be "dragged" outside on his leash to do his business. And sometimes, I suspect he only does what's absolutely necessary and hurries inside again. Of course, that means he has to go out again sooner!! Does anyone else's Hav hate the rain???

PS It's been raining here for two days!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Havanna hates the rain. She hadn't pottied in the house in about 7 weeks, then it rained here early last week. She absolutely refused to go outside! We just put in a new doggy door for her, and she would stick her little nose out, sniff the air, then high-tail it back in the house! She pottied in the house twice in one day. I told the hubby we were going to have to get an ex-pen and put it up outside with a cover on it when it rains so she'll do her business out there. He says she's a diva dog (the doggy door is now the "diva door"!). I'm with her, though; who in their right mind would want to squat in the rain when there's a nice, dry rug inside!

Suzy, you are not alone. Benji has never liked rain, cold or mud or grass. He is 18 months. He hates getting his paws wet. I keep piddle pads just inside the doggy door when it rains and he will use it eventually, but he will hold until his bladder is about to burst. I use cloth piddle pads and during the winter months, I use up many and wash them every day as Benji hates to pee on the used ones, he likes them clean and dry!!

Best, Poornima

I have to stand at the end of my covered patio, and launch my dogs into the grass when it's raining. Once they're out there, they'll do their thing. But, not a one of them will make that first move.

However, Sat we had hail. Bodie ran out in it, and was chasing the hail around, eating it
It was funny, till the lightening hit and the hail got bigger. I just knew he was going to get thumped in the head by a golf ball size piece of hail, or zapped.
I had to bribe him in with some treats, cause I sure as heck wasn't going after him.

I know this will sound weird-- But I am jealous of you who hav havs that that hate the rain. My boys don't care what the weather is... We actually have an indoor potty room in our garage that they get to through a doggy door-- they much prefer to go outside so hardly ever use it anymore-- they would prefer to hold it for hours on end. We had hoped they would use it for emergencies and bad weather. Occaisionally it is used for emergencies, but never bad weather. I think they like to get back at us for Baths.

Yes, Scout hates the rain and will poke his head out the dog door to see if it is raining or not. If it is, he'll back up and pee/poo on the carpet

I am working with him on this - having him go out in the rain even though he hates it. He is slowly getting used to it. It doesn't rain that much here though, so every winter, I'll probably have to start working with him again.

Wish mine hated the rain - or better yet - wet grass. I swear nothing with make MeMe RLH more than wet grass, she'll get as wet as she can on her feet and belly and once she's drenched, then she'll bury her face to get it sopping wet too. It's really very cute and since she dries so easily without mats and brushes up quickly, I really can't complain.

Now a white Maltese, who almost enjoys the same? Not fun! LOL

If it rains, I get the carpet cleaner out and have it handy! LOL Kona refuses to go outside and even on a leash he pulls toward the door and WILL NOT use the bathroom outside ... GRRRRRRRRRRRR
I guess we've adapted to him NOT going out, bless his heart, he might just melt!

Stella doesn't seem to mind the rain that much. She willingly goes out to do her business but comes right back in afterwards. She loves the snow though and doesn't even seem to mind too much when it's below zero out which is a good thing in North Dakota

Tessa's OK in the rain...too much I might add. Since the princess likes company as she does her business I have to go out too!

I see signs that it will be the summer heat she's not going to like. She's in for a rude awakening if she thinks 70 degrees is hot
