Meet Trooper/View Forum Quilt Squares larger!

http://www.artawakening.com/havanese...2208/news.html

Check out sneek peek number four...and meet Trooper, whose coat was trimmed quite close and is now growing out beautifully. See him with his foster friends...he loves other dogs and would make a great companion to yours.

These sure are lovely quilt squares. Who will win this quilt? I am sending in my wishes for it myself.

There are alot of cuties! Linda,I don't mean to put you "on the spot" here,so pm if you want, but why does it take so long to get a dog adopted? What I'm wondering is,let's say I saw Trooper and wanted to adopt him....why does it take so long to get Trooper from a foster home to a forever home? I guess maybe I'm just over-simplifying it,but it seems like if I saw a dog I'd like to adopt and I could give him a good home, then what is the delay?

I'll ask

I'll ask some of the rescue folks. I think they want to ensure that the homes are forever...I'm not completely sure.

Julie - I know that rescue is very slow because they want the dogs to feel comfortable, check out any behavior issues, make sure they are healthy, etc. Also, I think rescue is much more particular about home checks since they want to make sure it's a forever home. It isn't like a breeder that can more easily take back the dog. I believe too that there is more liability with rescue and so they'll be a bit more reserved in placing a dog. The other issue is often time - people are volunteers with busy lives and they don't move as quick as you or I would like.
