I never heard of lamalese before! Sounds like an intentional cross-breed? Like a labradoodle?

Interesting! I agree about the photos (tail looks dif tho), but the description from that link says it's a line developed from maltese/llasa apso hybrids.

Well, they are very cute. Website says they are a Lhasa/Maltese cross dating back to the 1950's in San Fran area. I have to go back and read more.

After reading further, it says that somewhere down the line, a Shih Tzu/Maltese cross was also brought into the mix. It is a purebred designer dog.

Hmmm, that is interesting. Kind of like they are crossing Lhasas with Malteses to get a Hav-looking type of dog. They are very cute, but having had a Lhasa before, I don't think their temperaments can compare with the joyful, outgoing Havs.

Lhasas are watchdogs/guarddogs and can be standoffish and very stubborn - probably accounting for the "slightly reserved with strangers" part of the description.

Why bother? I'd much rather have a Hav!

I've never heard of them or seen them and live in the SF bay area and have since the breed was "started." I noticed they seem to have a lot bigger noses than our darling Havanese. Certainly interesting. Thanks for the link.
