Missing Cat - Happy Ending

Friends of ours in Boston got their daughter a kitten for Xmas this past year. She is an artist and had a show in NYC last week. She left a day earlier than Glenn and their daughther Misa. That night, Glenn is calling for the cat, but the cat didn't come. He left the door opened a crack and put out food. Next morning, no cat. They had to leave for NYC knowing they were going to be gone for 5 days. He left out several bowls of food and water and hoped for the best. When they got home, still no cat. Deflated, they went to bed and were woken up by the doorbell. Their neighbor informed them that their cat was stuck in a tree! Sure enough, about 80 feet high in the tree was the cat! Glenn called the fire department and was told that they only do that on Leave It To Beaver. So he had to go to Lowes and buy the largest ladder they sell, rent a Uhaul to get it home, and finally rescued the poor cat, who has been inside trembling all day.

Oh my that poor kitty. I can't believe that the fire department wouldn't help. Thank goodness he was able to get a long enough ladder - makes you wonder if the little guy had been up there all five days. So glad there was a happy ending.

Thats a funny story, but an expensive one!! I was always told that if a cat could get up the tree, it could come down. I guess that isnt the case here.

That poor baby. Shame on the fire department. They should watch Leave It To Beaver more often.

What a story! It is great that the kittly is home now, safe and sound....hopefully, she has been cured of any tree climbing in the future!

Best, Poornima
