first tee finished for HRI National raffle/auction

Well, I finally finished painting one of the tees i'm donating to the HRI reception at the National. Not sure how it works- I guess there's a raffle and an auction thursday evening. I ended up deciding to paint a black and white for the first shirt- haven't decided whether I'll paint another or maybe a gold sable for the second tee. Since I'll be at the National, I also left a space (lavander area at bottom of design) that I can personalize at the show with either a dog or kennel name. Here's the pic

Jocelyn, the shirt is really cute. You did a wonderful job. I have a practical question. How often can it be washed before it doesn't look like that anymore? Does the paint fade or begin to wash out?

I think Dora Neezer is a perfect thing for you to go ahead and write in the purple space- since I am winning it!

Jocelyn, that is sooo cute. Do we have to go to nationals to get the raffle tickets?

Susan, I painted several for myself last summer and they have been washed numerous times with no fading- I think at the rate I wash, the shirts will wear out before the paint fades!! I posted a couple of the earlier shirts on another post awhile back.
I use silk paints for most of the painting so there is no "feel" on the shirt- they also work like watercolors so they "drift" on the fabric giving a soft watercolor effect. Their are some exceptions. I use a heavier fabric paint for black because I want to keep it defined. I also usually add some gold highlights. After the paints are heatset they become permanent.

Amanda- what about poor little Dasher?

Debby, I really don't know how it works. I'm assuming the auction you'd have to be there, but they may be just raffling the shirts off and I don't know. I haven't been to the National before- maybe someone that knows how it works will chime in.

I'm also donating an 11x14 silk painted portrait at the big auction for the Havanese Club. Whoever wins that can give me pictures of their dog and I'll paint its portrait. I'm pretty sure you have to be there for that one, too.

WOW....that's Talent...with a capital T. Very cute.
Wonder if I could blacken Cicero's face and press it to a shirt.

WOW Jocelyn that turned out great! I vote Sable for the next one and you can go ahead and put Riley's name on it. Here is a picture you can use
