Midwest Storms

I know a lot of our forum members live in the Midwest, you guys have been dealing with a lot this year between earth quakes, thunderstorms and tornadoes. It seem like ever time I talk to my mom or sisters something is going on.

Lightening hit a house across the street and a few houses down from my mother and now my sister and her kids were visiting a friend for the weekend ended up getting rescued from the floods.

Me, DH and the boys are getting ready to head to Indy soon, I hope all the storms are over. You guys have been hit hard.

Here is a pictures of my sister in today's paper with her son after being rescued from the floods.

Leeann, I am so sorry for you your sister and her family. Was their house damaged? will they be able to return? It is a very beautifully sad and poignant. Are they ok?

Sully is not big on thunder, and the tornado sirens day after day in Nebraska doesn't make him a happy puppy. At least he doesn't freak out like he did last year when it forst happened. Now he stalks me, even follows me to the bathroom when I take a bath. He will go between my sons room and where ever we are if there is any bad weather. Bless his big heart. I hope I am not cursing myself here, but I am grateful all the warnings have not produced a tor, but wind, rain, and hail have been horrid just the same.

We have alot of flooding here and the rain just doesn't seem to quit! I emptied out my rain gauge-I had 2.5 in.one day,3" the next....and late yesterday afternoon till this afternoon over 6". Basements are flooding, streets are closed------lots of damage. We are lucky so far=minimal water in the basement. We had tornado warnings, but none touched down close to us.

Prayers to everyone in the midwest and downstream from us...

Leeann I hope your sister and the rest of the friends and family are ok. There is alot of flooding down south of us. It has been really bad with storms here. I am done with them. I hope our playdate will be storm free.

Leeann, hope your sister and her family is OK. The weather is really a mess this year. I can't imagine what those people have gone through. We have had two days of temps in the 90's and right now it is thundering like mad, getting very dark but no rain yet. Next 2 days supposed to be in the 90's also.

Storms and Havanese rescue contact

The woman I work with in the bird store is from an hour east of Indianapolis. Roads are closed and under water. A hospital had to be evacuated. Down here further south in KY its been very hot and humid but not rainy (as yet.)

Can someone give me the URL for the web site for Havanese rescue. A friend's sister would like to adopt.
