Angel eyes

Here's a couple pictures I took of Riley this morning. I've been using Angel Eyes for about a month now. He's stopped staining and I had the groomer clip some of the old brown stuff out last week. He looks a bit hollow eyed but SO much better!

oh, you are soo lucky! i tried the angel eyes for months and it didin't clear my dogs eyes up but we realized his goop was a diet issue so with a little change in that area, his eyes are slowly clearing up.

Oh I'm so jealous - my Maltese has terrible staining and I know that I need to order Angel Eyes. That's wonderful it worked so quickly.

JeanMarie, Riley looks fabulous.

I don't want to rain on your joy, but if his adult teeth haven't fully developed & emerged, you may want to hold off a until the. Tylosin is said to stain developing teeth in a gray color. I don't know if it happens to all dogs, but two vets and some long-time Hav breeders have said this. (I thought only antibiotics in the Tetracycline family did that.)

Thanks Kimberly! I will certainly ask my vet. Whan I brought him in last, he said he had no problem with him being on it. Will ask about the teeth thing. Wouldn't want to ruin his smile!!

For those who are going to try angels eyes, shop online. One of the upscale pet stores in my neighborhood charged over $100 for the large bottle!

Long time and top winning maltese breeder friends of mine swear that having them drink water only out of the water bottles doesnt allow for bacteria to form and cause the eye staining. Now, thats not a reasonable accomplishment around here but they truthfully (maltese breeder friends) have never had to treat topically or orally for severe eye stains by keeping their dogs faces out of water bowls. I didnt know that Angel Eyes contained tetracycline and I thought it was a topical treatment.

I have use "Eye Envy" on Cicero. He has a black muzzle and stains don't show, but it sure has helped with the goop and tearing around his eyes. You just wipe it on with a cotton pad. I use it in the morning when we do our face wash and teeth brushing. I've had owners with white dogs that swear by it. You can search for it online to read about and see pics.
