Taste of the Wild dog food

Does anyone use this?
I am going to completely switch what my dogs are eating, since we are having so many bladder/crystal issues. I had a sample bag of Taste of the Wild Salmon. All my dogs seem to enjoy it when I fed it to them a few kibbles at a time (out of my hand, spoiled brats!)~ It can be tough to find a food that they all like!
I go to the dog food store and just stand there like an iddiot.....why does choosing a food have to be so hard?? Do you think it's ok to change the sourse of protein? They have been eating Chicken based food their entire lives....

switching proteins

Sue Nelson thought it was good to switch proteins, she used several of the nature's variety medallions. She also used other natural freeze-dried raw foods such as salmon.

I think havanese do enjoy a change now and then as long as we do it slowly so they don't get the runs!

Riki and Daisy really like their New Zealand Brush Tail. I don't really even want to know what that is because I think it is really cute!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

Salmon food is so good for their skin and coats-- with the Omega3s that it has naturally. It might be a good change from the chicken--gradually.

Katie~ I switched Tori to it a few weeks ago because she went nuts for the sample I had, too. I was pleasantly surprised to find it gets 6* from dogfoodanalysis.com However, only the Wetlands (what Tori's on) and the Prairie formulas get 6*, the salmon formula gets fewer because they state: "We have been unable to locate any statement on the manufacturer's website guaranteeing the use of ethoxyquin-free ingredients." (I don't remember how many *'s, though) I had to change her food because she'd been on the Nutro Ultra that was making so many dogs sick

i just started transitioning my dog from wellness chicken to ziwipeak venison. it's a dehydrated raw dog food, it looks like flat poker chips. my dog, who hates eating, when he gets back from his morning walk with my husband, runs right by me and goes straight to his bowl! we've only been on it 3 days, slow transition but he loves it! the great thing about it is that i can switch to fish or something else within the same line. it's all protein but the vet said it's the best, his eyes are clearing up, he's not itching as bad, we removed the old treats and transitioned to the ziwipeak treats and so far so good. there's so much junk in dog food, the treats i was giving him had salt and sugar! and this was one of the better treats. my breeder said to feed raw, too gross for me, but this is the best of both worlds.

We are hanging in there~
Daisy and Heidi are on a medication to lower the ph of their urine to hopefully help the crystals to go away~
Jester needs to go back in to have a urinalisys done again, but we are having a crazy week and I am leaving Wed for Longbeach, so it will prob have to be next week~
Havana is having some discharge too, but the vet doesn't think it's urine related (more having puppies related) so she is on antibiotics too. She goes to her new home tomorrow, gonna miss her like crazy!
Got some Taste of the Wild food and distilled water, so we are going to give that a try.....
Phew~ it just never ends in my house!

Katie - I had a few hot spot issues with Taste of the Wild Wetlands for my Maltese - but I really like the food.
