Don't wanna go on vacation...

I know that this is serious. I have this havanese addiction to my own dogs. Yes, I like other havanese. I like other dogs.
I missed two trips to Hawaii to stay home with them. And now my daughter and I are going to Maryland for six days and instead of being excited, I am thinking of them.

When I drive in the car I talk to them even when they aren't there. I am totally and incredibly in mad love with my dogs.

I know I will enjoy things once I get there...but I find it hard to pack even. Sigh.

But the best thing is that when we walk back home in the door, they will be jumping up and down happy to see me as always. My husband will be home with them and get all their love for a week. I think that will make him happy!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

Aw, Linda, I know exactly how you feel!! We've booked a week in Aug., in Wildwood, NJ, with the kids.... but no dogs. I am dreading it already! I had a woman lined up to keep them, but she cancelled out on me this morning, due to family issues. Now I'm stuck and not sure where they'll go nor if it will be ideal. After all, I'M their ideal Mom, right?? Ah man....... it sucks. My mind is more on the care of my Havs while we're away than it is on being on vacation with hubby and the kids. That's bad!

I've left for several days before with hubby and kids at home to care for Ricky and Sammy, so that wasn't too bad. You'll be fine and of course your fur kiddies will be fine too.

I feel ya! I'm just as bad as you are. I don't ever want to have to leave my babies. I get frustrated when something comes up where I can't take them! Last night was a free concert in the park, which we have enjoyed in the past, but this last year they've made a rule 'No dogs allowed!' so we had a quick dinner out and then came right home to our babies. I love my dogs and my birds and I'm happiest when I can be at home with them all!

Ahhh, Linda. This is tough but we need to try and live our lives without them from time to time. Honestly, I can barely survive the 2-3 hours I'm away from him when DH and I go out. But when we come back he doesn't look like he minded it too much, LOL.

Linda I completely understand where you're coming from. My husband and I have booked a flight to Portugal for three weeks in the summer. My parents will be taking care of our little guy and I know that they will do an amazing job... but I just can't seem to get excited for the trip knowing who I am leaving behind! But you know what they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder... enjoy the time with your daughter. They are in good hands. Good luck!

We've only had ours for a month and I miss him terribly anytime we're gone! When I told my husband I didn't even want to leave for church he told me I was losing it. LOL! I do leave him but for as short a time as possible. I thought it might get easier as he got older but from what I read here...I guess not! Seems like everyone falls in love with these little cuties!!!

I do hope you're able to enjoy your vacation though!

I completely understand where you are coming from! I wish my havs were kids so I could take them everywhere. We always stay at Motel 6 since they allow pets, and I try to take them whereever I can. I cant live without them. I seriously start to cry if I have to leave them... is that bad?

Why are these little guys so addictive?

Are other dog breed owner's as nuts as we are? I had German Shepherds before, a poodle, and some mixes that I loved. I loved my cats but I didn't talk to them in the car when I was driving without them!
