Roughing it with my Homies

Well Posh and I, and the rest of the family, are packing up tonight and heading out tomorrow to go camping. And I do mean hardcore camping.

The five of us will be backpacking into our campsite and staying in a tent. I'm trying to decide if Posh really needs her little tablespoon of canned food mixed in her kibble...or if we can save cooler space and leave that at home! I don't know, she's been eating so well lately.

We are staying at two beautiful state parks on the shores of lake Superior. If you're curious just click here. We are staying at Split Rock for two nights, and then shuffling off to an even more primitive park, you can click to see more here.

We've already tested out Posh's comfort level in the tent, which she hopped in without being asked and was like, "Hey I'm ready to go!"

There are bears, wolves, and perhaps mountain lions, so you know I will be keeping an eye on Miss Posh and my children.

I'll be sure to post lots of pictures.

Wish me luck.

Best of luck Amy! You're a better woman than I, I nearly died at Boy Scout camp and that was only for 2 nights! My husband is from out west and used to backpack camp and would love to do it again but I just couldn't possibly!

Have fun!!!

Wow, I can't wait for pictures and stories of how it went! I'm going camping in a couple of weeks, but not taking Noa along. Eventually I'd like for her to participate though!

Just got back from a week-long 'camping' trip in the mountains of Colorado. I say 'camping' because even tho we were in the wilderness.......we were in an RV.
It's the only way dh and the boys can talk me into going. I roughed it in a tent way too many times. They LOVED camping in a tent, I did not love it. The RV makes me a lot easier to camp with. If I must be without my iphone and my Chanel flats for a week....well I at least need an actual bed.

Dawna I don't mind the tent...but I told the DH that we may be roughing it, but I want to go out to dinner. Forget the whole baked beans on a cookstove thing!

Well, he wasn't okay with every meal being eaten "out" but I did talk him into to taking me somewhere with the kids on Wednesday, my birthday....

Awwww, happy early birthday!! I agree, that has to be part of the 'camping' package.....eating out every once in awhile. Although it was an hours drive to the nearest town!! I have to admit, we did the beans on the campfire thing a LOT in the past week, too.
