is this a havanese?

There's a local rescue that posted a hav this wk. First of all, I've NEVER seen a hav in a rescue anywhere close to us. Closet was something like 4, 5 hours. So, I was surprised when I came across this guy they call "sid" and emailed the folks, because I know a few people that could be interested. He looked quite a mess, but I wanted to know the deal with him.
Here's his link
http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/dis...petid=11375132

When I asked about him, the woman misunderstood who I was asking about, and sent me pics of this adorable little puppy. Rescued from a mill, along with this yorkie.

After oohing and ahhing I called her and told her it was the adult I was inquiring about. But, that I think I may have someone already interested in the puppy.
She said the adult was found wandering around outside a home that was ransacked by some teens, after the owner was taken off to a nursing home.
They rescued the dog, all matted up and scared to death. And had to shave him down because his coat was such a mess. She thought maybe maltese, or poodle? But, after seeing the hav pup she rescued, now she thinks havanese.
She's not really sure, though.
Oh, and some friend of hers who does home health care came over shortly after he arrived and said she recognized him from one of her clients home(eldery lady). And that his name was Buddy. Guess when he heard the name, he came running and got all excited. She said he's a super sweet dog, very loving, etc.
She has NO experience with this breed. So, I told her I'd post some pics. Ask if other's thought that's what he was. She said he's only like 7, 8 lbs. Looks like a little poodle to me.

It's not a poodle but not sure what it is other than one cute dog that needs a loving home.

Maybe it could be the maltese x yorkie cross as they have became really popular in pet stores? The dog has very straight hair for a poodle but has a really long thing muzzle for a maltese but I would guess more of a maltese than a havanese.

I was thinking a Malti-poo perhaps but the muzzle is a bit long for that. Perhaps you're right Amanda about the yorkie mix.

I've looked up some pics of maltese/yorkie crosses and definitly could be an option. I also don't really see Hav in him at all. Poor thing, though.

His muzzle is going to look long because they shaved it. Here he is with facial hair. Sorry I only had a minute to work on it but you get a rough idea
