Braedyn got stung by a bee!

My poor baby boy got stung by a bee tonite!
We were outside with the puppies while the kiddos were swimming. Hubby and I were watching him be a goofy boy, trying to bite at flies. He was chasing them all over and being so cute!
Then all of a sudden he was swatting at his nose, and jumping backwards over and over. I watched this for a second, then noticed he was whimpering. So I scooped him up and looked at his face~~ The stinger was right in the middle of his nose, just above his lip! I was able to scratch it off (and hubby and Carter checked it out under EyeClops, very very interesting to see it close up!)
I gave Braedyn some benedryl and held him for about 15 minutes. I don't see any swelling yet, and he was able to finish his dinner. But now I feel like I can't keep my eyes off of him. (hubby has him right now)~
I am so freaked he will have trouble breathing or something. But so far he is ok.... cross your fingers that he doesn't have a reaction!

I'm so sorry to hear of Braedyn's bee encounter I hope the Benedryl works and all turns out well.

Didn't Gucci get stung as a young pup, too?

Hope Braedyn is doing well. I do remember Kara saying Gucci was stung by a bee as a pup as well.

Sounds like you got it real early Katie and with the bendryl and the quick action with the stinger......maybe Braedyn will bounce back with no side effects/swelling etc.

Aw, poor baby. Isn't it true that the first time a person gets stung is usually not the one to worry about as much with an allergic reaction? If so, maybe it's the same in animals. I would think if he were going to have a reaction it would have happened sooner. Fingers crossed that it just becomes a bad memory. Sending a cyber kiss for Braedyn's nose.

Poor thing. Did you give him any special kind of Bendryl, or just the regular human kind? What dosage did you give him?

How is Braedyn this morning? Did you get any sleep or did you stay up worrying?
