There was a storm coming in, so like a responsible weatherman's wife and storm spotter Logan and I sat on the front porch and watched it come in. Sully was either in the backyard or in the house depending on the time. Well it was getting buggy, WAY past DS bedtime, and the phone was ringing. So we ran inside. DS was to shut the door. It is MY fault for not double checking and locking it. I got off the phone, brought son up for shower, teeth brush and bedtime story. 20 minutes. During the story I thought our son was farting and picked him about it, he swore it wasn't. (A quick back ground we live in rural Nebraska and there is a feed lot of 50,000 cattle about 4 miles NW of us, East winds make it rank. We live on a 1 long road w/ a dead end subdivision. We all know who's dog is who's and who's kid is who's) I realized it was the wind shift and thought 'oh great.' Then the barking happened. Sully was barking and spitting, almost hissing. I went tearing down the stairs to find the front door WIDE open and my Hav that doesn't wear a collar out in the NON fenced front yard barking at 2 neighbor ladies walking 4 BIG dogs.
The wind had hit so hard it knocked the door open due to the angle. Sully must have been eating (food is by the front door) when it flew open. Seeing the dogs he went out to warn him that this was HIS property. Otherwise from the backyard he plays with them fine.
I was scared.what are the odds the ONE time I don't bolt the door.
Proud Wife to Corey, Mother to Logan, and Fur-Mommy to Sully!
