Why Havanese Rescue needs us...

This is a Havanese Rescue video made by Lu Wyland, the music is What Kind of World Do You Want. It was the inspiration that got me involved in assisting rescue in any way I can. Be prepared, it can make you tear up quite a bit...hopefully it will inspire you as it did me.

I saw that video a while back. It's just lovely! Thanks for posting a pic of the quilt too, Linda. It's so neat!! Here's hoping we get a ton of funds for HRI with the sale of the quilts!

Linda:

Thanks for the post-just brings tears to my eyes everytime I see it. And reminds me why I do what I do to help our "kids" who need us the most.

I joined HRI before I got my first Foster-Mr Roman (he is the one who looks like he is going to jump off the table) I also Flunked Fostering 101 and he stayed-but without HRI I wonder where he would have ended up and if he would still even be on this earth enjoying life. Other Fosters have come and gone but each have taken a piece of my heart with them.

Thank YOu again for this reminder.

fostering through Havanese Rescue

What was it like when a foster dog first came to your house? Were you scared? How did your other dog react. I'm not sure I know his story...but I'd be interested to know.

I also volunteer for HRI. It is one of the most rewarding things for me to do. Helping to make sure all of the Havanese have good, loving, stable homes is what it is all about and I am glad to be apart of it.

The video does hit the heart. It's well done. Pat, what a wonderful way to 'flunk' something I stick to helping with the quilts. I'm way too far out of the way to help with fostering and have too soft of a heart.

If I had a really big yard...

I think for us, two is a good number. When I work a little less, I would love to foster although I have an idea I might end up with havvie number three. Every havanese I have ever met has been an instant friend to my dogs...and my heart.

But then again, when we were at my sister's, her three bigger dogs were trying to get in my lap just the same. What a difference between Riki's 12 pounds and Sam's 120!

Any of you that have fostered a dog, I would love to hear your story...havanese or otherwise.

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!
