Impromptu Playdate

Gryff was barking at the window this morning and we saw our little Aussie puppy neighbor Cozmo out for a walk, so we came out to say hello. Then come Shotzie, the enormous German Shepherd. Then came Lucy, the Weimeraner. Soon enough, we had a massive playdate happening in my front yard and Gryff was having a smashing time! It's so nice to see him have fun with other dogs. He was shy at first. Cozmo wanted to play and Gryff growled a few times while trying to get away, but he warmed up and had so much fun. I think it added to the fun the fact that my lawn was soaking wet with morning dew. None of the other dogs look like the drowned rat that Gryff does! I guess it's the hair. Right now, he's wrapped in a towel and sound asleep on my lap. I was going to toss him in the tub, but I think I'll let him snooze.

Off topic - last night I crashed out cold around 11:00 with the TV on. Next thing I know, I hear the doorbell ring and Gryff is barking his head off. Of course, I was confused as to who would be at my door that late. I get out of bed and then realize the doorbell was on the TV! Dumb dog.

Sounds like everyone had a blast! We have new neighbors with two westies that go bonkers through the fence at my dogs. We've thought about asking if they wanna get together for a little playdate

Too funny about the doorbell. Cooper does that, too with the t.v. And last night, one of my kids was pounding the ranch bottle on the table, and guess ding bat thought it was the door. Starting barking like a mad man

Ivy, Gryff is making such great progress. I'm sure if you come to Laurie's, he will do great with all the other dogs. Kodi is the same way at first. He will growl and be nasty and in a little while is playing along with them. I love the doorbell story.

That is so nice to hear, Ivy! I like Gryff and I'm happy that he's not always as shy as he used to be. It sounds like everyone, humans and dogs, had a blast. Impromptu anything is the best!

I'm so happy Gryff had a good time, he's got a great place there to run around, he might as well have some canine company here and there!

Roxie always runs to the door when the bell rings on tv too!!

Sounds like a fun playdate... I've quit telling my neighbors about taking Roxie to playdates. They all think I've gone crazy!
