update on mugs and kaylie

dropped mugsy off this morning and will pick him up at 4 or so. have not heard from the vet so am guessing all is well.
i have his onesies waiting at home.

kaylie is doing well and will be delivered this coming monday. i had hoped for saturday so the wait has increased by 2 days for me.
the good thing is mugs will have a couple of extra quiet days for healing.

That's a good way to look at it. Wishing Mugsy an easy time at the vets and a quick recovery!

Sounds like you got everything taken care of Joe! Mugs will be fine and probably sleep the rest of the day. Please keep us updated on how he's doing. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how much better of a dog Mugsy will be now too(after the neuter). I think he'll surprise you.........no more piddling in your house! A couple extra days before Kaylie arrives will be nice for Mugs. She'll be worth the wait!

Ahh sorry for the delay Joe, but a few extra days with Mugsy won't be so bad.

Joe,

Before you know it the time will pass and you'll wonder where it went. Hoping Mugsy will heal quickly and your little girl fits right in to the family. I can't wait to hear about both. Sending hugs Mugsy's way.

Glad all is going according to plan! Can't wait to see pics!!

Ummm...I think I know what onesies are (baby sleeping thingies) but could you 'splain how you use em...and if he'll still need a cone. And what about doing his business? Got a boy going in for the same proceedure in the coming month and want to be prepared!

Thanks!

Jean, Riley and Zeus!

just got in a few minutes ago. the vet held him longer as he was taking his sweet time waking up from the anesthesia. as it is he is sleeping and moves only a bit to change his position. they put a cone on him and said to leave it on for a week. i didn't protest cause the assistant scares me and i will take it off soon.
jean, the onesies were a new thing for me - i read about them here, maybe do a search for that thread. they block direct access to the stitches and you just unsnap them for potty time. mugsy has not been going very much in his pen and has been waiting for me to come home after work or to get up in the morning before doing his thing so i think we should be ok.
and yes, little kaylie will be here in one week. the time is going quickly though, it was a 4 week wait at first and now we are down to 7 days.
i'm so looking forward to having the 2 of them together. mags is such a sweet boy i think he would get along with just about anyone (as long as they are not ringing the front door bell) and i hope that kaylie will also be a sweet heart. i do think she might be more of a handful than mugsy was a first having spent her 6 years as a breeder. i think she spent some time in the house but who knows really how much?

i look forward to it all though!!!!

and i want to thank you all for 'being there' for me. when i really involve myself in things, like dogs and cameras, my non cyber friends seem to have a limited amount of patience for yet another dog story or what have you.
