Question Question about Merrick products and prices

Benji and Lizzie chew on Trader Joe's Pig in the Blanket and N-Bone's Pearly Whites. But after hearing and reading rave reviews about Merrick products from the forum members, I have been looking forward to trying them.

Following is the pricing per unit at Merrick site:

Merrick Jumbo Flossie: $ 5 +
Merrick Snozzles: $ 1.77
Texas Toothpicks: only available in bulk
Merrick Flossies 6-8": $4+

At other websites, the products are cheaper by $1- $1.50 or even $2 per unit.

I looked up an Amazon vendor who is selling Jumbo Flossies for $119 (35 count).

I first need to buy a few to make sure Benji and Lizzie would like them and not have any tummy troubles or allergies.

Those of you who order these products regularly, where do you buy them?

Any inputs/ tips are welcome! Thanks in advance.

Best,
Poornima

Hi Poornima,

I usually order my Merrick chewies directly from the website - they have free shipping for all orders over $25. But you can also try the Store Locator feature on the website to find a local store that carries their chewies.

The Texas Toothpicks used to be much less expensive and have gone up a lot in the last couple of years - must be competition for beef tails!

The advantage of buying directly from Merrick (vs. another site) is the excellent customer service. If the products don't agree with your dog (they don't like it, it gives them the runs), they will replace them or possibly give you a credit/refund. I've had to do that once and they were very nice about it and took care of things immediately.

A lot of the non-chain pet stores carry a few Merrick products. It is hit or miss for me as to which products they carry though.

Jane, which product(s) gave your dogs the runs?

Kimberly, I just found a store very close to my house that carries the products but if they sell puppies there, they are not getting my business. It seems shops selling puppies is quite common around NY area.

I'm glad you're taking a stand for the puppies!

You probably don't have any near you, but I have also found quite a few Merrick products at feed stores. That seems to be a sure place to find Flossies when I'm on the road.

What's a feed store?

They are usually out in the country or more rural areas. It's a place where you can go get food (feed) for your animals and other supplies for caring for them. However, I go down to one in Santa Clara on occasion, and there is one in San Ramon. Neither areas being rural, obviously. They are usually the only place to find horse products - if that helps.

Well, whaddya know? I just went to Google and typed in "feed store San Ramon" and found out there is also one in Hayward and one in Castro Valley. I had no idea. Not that this matters for you now. It would be a bit difficult for you to get to any of these. LOL!

ETA: I just went to Google and did the same thing with Long Island instead of San Ramon and found three. Click here. They are in Calverton, Eastport, and Medford.

Poornima, I buy flossies from Amazon.com. I pay about $2.30 per flossie in a box of 50. I have never had a problem ordering from them and I've done it twice or three times... probably twice. None of them have made Kubrick sick or anything. I think it's totally worth it as $4+ per flossie is incredibly expensive, I think, and as much as I'd love to order from Merrick's website, I like having the option of buying in bulk for so much less.
