Nosy havanese at our "meeting"

My dogs seem to want to be the center of everything...today we had a "meeting" to talk about an upcoming backpacking trip. We had lots of papers and maps of which the dogs found most comfortable to either sit or lie on. Then we had to go through the kissing stage where the dogs must kiss everyone at least fifty times, sitting in their laps and being scratched, and then a few more licks...and then finally settling down until the next person comes and then we start all over again.

I put them in the other room but they were so pitiful with their baby cries that I let them back in. They were less excited but still wanted to sit on laps or read the maps. LOL

And who ever said that this was a non-shedding breed! What I vaccuumed up from the pergo before my guests came and what was in the filter was a lot of hair...havanese hair. And all the sand that they pick up on their walks because they like to roll in it!

We entertained our guests with some havanese tricks for treats to the joy of all. Too bad I couldn't bring Riki on the trip (no dogs allowed in the back country) because he has so much energy and being with him gives me energy! I could get him to carry some of the water...but that will never happen because he turns into a small bush picking up debris as he walks or runs along the path...always on the lookout for some mud to jump in.

Well, let it be said...this house is never boring. And I am never lonely. They are like a couple of little kids happy to have company!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

I can so relate!!!! When I comb out Bugsy and then vacuum it is full of his hair. In my experience, Havs shed much more then my Poodles.

If your vacuums need a "more intense" workout-----I could send you Vinnie!

Tell me about the shedding, it just sneaks up on you! My vacuum looks pitiful after I do the house.

So we aren't alone...

I cannot imagine what it would be like with dogs that shed! Although visiting my sister's house with her dalmation...one walk by and you are covered with short little hairs.

I bought a special new vacuum, a canister with more power so I could get it all up. I guess it used to settle in the carpet. Now that the dogs have pergo it seems to float all over the house. At night when the west sun comes in you can see it and get most of it.

Love these sweeties...keeps me fit...walking them and vacuuming up after them. Do the smooth, smooth coated ones lose coat as much as the thick ones like Riki?

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!
