On the Move & Road

I owe a lot of pm's and emails but just wanted to say I am a little slow and will catch up next week. We should be back home on Tuesday and I will be playing catch up as we moved and trucks will be arriving next week too but then went to visit family and the blackberry makes me slow and I can't drop the family to play on the internet (although I really want to sometimes!)

We had a bit of a bump and I have to thank Kathy and Lisa for being so concerned and giving their advice. Dora seems to always stumble upon bugs at our new homes and this time she picked a nest of yellow jackets and it scared the crap out of me! She is doing well and I encourage everyone to have liquid benadryl on hand at all times! Let's just say those California ants have nothing on SC yellow jackets!!!

The kids are doing great and really having fun. Dora has been able to go swimming, Dasher has been non stop chasing cats (Kathy- you should have mentioned his prey drive puts Dora's to shame but boy oh boy can he move) and his whippet cousin won't even run from him cause Dash can run just as fast as him and bite ankles at the same time! Belle just loves being with family and friends- she has an amazing ability to remember those she has only met once. They have stayed this last week at my in laws farm and I have been reminded they really are dogs and I really have seen a bit of a pack attitude on picking on animals. As soon as one of them starts, the other two quickly jump in. I think they are looking forward to finally going back to having a set home again although they have had a great time on "vacation!"

Can't wait to get settled in and get back to a schedule and catch up!

Amanda! What a neat picture you got!
I'm sorry about the nasty flying attack and so glad everything is ok.
Does Ca have fire ants now?

Amanda! Nice to see you back! I hope the rest of your move goes smoothly.

And yellow jackets... yikes! I have a terrible fear of them. Senior year at my high school they had a huge yellow jacket nest that took them more than six months to find and eradicate. Let's just say that made for some interesting (and painful!) stories. Hope Dora is okay now!

Not only will the furkids be glad to get back "home" and to a normal routine, but I know you will also. You and Jim amaze me and are the most wonderful parents for you "kids". Have they gone horseback riding while on the farm?? LOLOL

Oh goodness I love the Whippet chasing & herding story. Fantastic picture of the three of them on Route 66. So glad Dora's better - tell her to leave any and all new bugs alone. Have a fun rest of the trip and thanks for checking in.

Oh Ryan, you're such a brat!

Hey Amanda, I don't know how you all do it, but it sounds like the pooches are having a great time. I just LOVE that picture!! It's a perfect souvenir of your travels.

I imagine things are going to get more hectic before they settle down, but know that we are always here for you if you just want to come on and play or vent. I am very glad to hear that Dora is o.k. now. Yikes!! That had to be scary!

Good luck with the rest of the trip and move!

Amanda,

They look so cute. Look a lot like they're saying it's hot mom. Sorry about the Yellow Jacket attack. Yuck! I hate those things.
