Casey's Adventures on the High Seas

Well, our new little pup has turned out to be quite an ol' salt! At just 5 1/2 months old, she has probably spent more time 'at sea' than most land lovin' people!

Our charter clients seem to love having Casey aboard. She meets new people every day and DH swears she is a remedy for sea sickness! He thinks that by distracting peoples attention away from the rolling seas, she occupies their mind and has a calming effect on them. Failing that, she is always happy to snuggle during a mid-day nap (as per the pics below).

The presence of the sharks aboard the boat doesn't seem to faze her in the least. She just dawdles around, looking for the occasional food crumbs or a pat on the head.

Our only mishap occurred recently when she climbed up onto the settee in the parlour and pooped on a client's jacket. :-(

Adorable little sea dog! Our dogs always enjoyed my father-in-law's boat before he moved out of state

Too bad about the client's jacket though.

Oh that's great! I'm sure that Casey is developing some great sea legs!

That is so great! I love it.

You mentioned sharks... is this a fishing charter? If so, what do you normally catch?

Yep, it's a shark fishing charter (catch, tag & release). Here's a pic of Casey (which I posted on a previous thread) with her first shark! We typically catch blue sharks, but occasionally a few porbeagles and makos.

Very cool. We will have to look into chartering a Hav play/fishing date. Delilah loves to be out on the water, Sam, not so much.

Elaina, thank you for the picture and info. I've never heard of those three types of sharks. How interesting!

Do you catch, tag & release for research/migration purposes or something else?
