one walks fast & the other walks slow

mugs is a speedster and kaylie is a tourist...

kaylie will not speed up at all and insists on walking behind me and it's getting on my nerves. i can't see her or what she is doing or not doing. she walks directly behind my legs and there is no moving her forward. she will occasionally run forward a bit to smell whatever mugsy is smelling but then she falls back again.

how can i get her to move forward a little quicker?

i might try the coupler again but i was feeling sorry for mugs as he was walking way slower than his normal and she would not allow herself to be 'pulled' ahead by him.

greetings from mugsy & me

When you find an answer, let me know!!! Tess walks behind me and every once in a while just sits down - to smell the air! She may be little, but she stops me right in my tracks.

I was just thinking about this on my walk this morning. I doubt any of the three of us are happy with our pace
....we walk too slow for Cody, too fast for Tess and way too many stops for me.

that would be Jasper and Cash. I am working on having them both heel and stay with me. That has helped. I either keep one on one side and one on the other or both on my left, and if they are both on one side Cash is usually behind Jasper. DH or I sometimes takes Jasper on extra walks alone so he can trot. Jas loves to walk, Cash loves to play.

Joe, the dual leash I really like is the pet walker plus as opposed to a coupler

I like it because it's one handle but the leash part is close enough that you can control one leash or the other, and also it is long enough to offer seperation. and to reign them in you just grab both leashes. Don't get the leather it is way too heavy.

that does look pretty good missy.
i have not seen anything locally that resembles it.

they don't seem to take paypal so that makes it a bit harder for me to order. i don't use credit cards.

we just came in from a walk and i used the coupler again. i think kaylie and i were ok but mugsy was not too happy.

a possible solution for me is to get married again (to a dog lover this time) and then we could each grab a leash.

Tourist.. how cute is that. LOL I love the "terms" you used to described them. I don't have any advise, although you got some really good advise already. Kona doesn't really like to walk on a leash, so we romp and run in the yard alot, and Kohl was the one who'd plop his little bootie on the ground and utterly REFUSE to walk.

Come on when you get married then you can afford more pups I would also second using the dual leash. It was a life saver with speedy belle and chill out dora. They even each other out rather than making me do the work.
