I need prayer

So my neighbors behind us have been less then friendly. Their kids used to play with hard baseballs that would come flying over the fence and ruined the siding on the house, a BBQ and honestly we think thats how my Husky got Epilepsy and was so bad with other problems that she had to be put down 8 months ago. We have a retaining wall in the back that is just under 4 feet high that they had built. The wall is failing. We went over last year to talk to them about it and he admitted that the wall was failing and he had tried to (scam) his insurance into paying for it a year earlier. Which didn't work. He asked us to get quotes, which we did and sent him a certified letter in June when nothing happened. They immediately put there house up for sale. So I pulled the disclosures and found that the wall was not on it. So I sent the letter certified to the realtor. I've contacted our insurance, a lawyer and the county code inspector. The disclosures were updated and an approved offer was placed on the house. The bad part is we can't do anything because there yard needs to be dug up for a drain (the water cascades over the wall when they water) and inspectors have told us it will cause a mud slide through our home as we sit several feet below the wall.

Tonight the neighbor showed up (rather late) on our front door step. He was not happy and was yelling at my husband. He said that insurance would not cover it (we knew they wouldn't) and that he wouldn't fix it. We said that's fine we'll just take it up withe the new owners... He obviously is suppose to fix it or he wouldn't have come over.... He told us that he was going to replace it with railroad ties and make it ugly and not put back up the fence. I'm thinking, that won't pass a code inspection and I'm sure the new owners won't be happy with that... He has to fix it correctly and I have to talk to more people but I'm just sick about this whole thing. I can't stop shaking. Everyone tells me, I'm in the right and he knows he has to fix the problem and is just mad. Scary thing is my husband works 48 hour shifts and I'm alone and scared.

Sending up a prayer for you right now, Addrian. May God show you favor and may the highest good for all concerned be the outcome.

(and angels to watch over you)

Hoping that all will work out well for you...some neighbors can be such a pain to deal with. I'd ask at the County...someone that knows for sure....when we moved into our house (newly built) we were told that the people on the lower side are responsible for the retaining wall, so we had to build one (and it wasn't cheap.....), I hope it's different in your area...

blessings to you.

Perhaps a mediator would help this situation?
If you feel threatened in any way, it would be best to contact authorities.

Thank goodness you're getting rid of them! The new owner may be a whole lot nicer. Sending you good wishes.

It sounds like you have contacted the right people. Hopefully the county can help you solve this problem with an inspection - and letting him know it has to be taken care of. I hope you get wonderful new neighbors and I'm sending up a prayer for you to get this problem out of your life.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear you have neighbor trouble. That can just be the worst. It sounds like they are under financial pressure and people can really go off the deep end sometimes. Could you keep some extra lights on and borrow a friend's big dog for a week or so? Either that or invite a friend to spend the night until you're feeling more comfortable? Hugs to you.
